Angel Of The North Photographs

The Angel of the North was fabricated from 200 tons of weathering steel by Hartlepool Steel Fabrications Ltd on Teeside.

20 metres ( 65 feet ) tall and with a span of 54 metres ( 175 feet ).

When asked the sculptor, Peter Gormley answered: "People are always asking why an angel? The only response I can give is that no-one has ever seen one and we need to keep imagining them".
