The Area


Les Mathes is in the Avert Peninsula and is a very typical French village near to lush natural forests and landscape, La Palmyre is home to many shops and restaurants, but also it is famous for its zoo, cycling, walking and visiting other villages are some of the activities you can do.

At the centre of the village is a local food market, every day in the summer months there are stalls of fresh fruit and produce, seafood as well as vegetable are all to buy here in this market.



French cuisine can be found in many of the restaurants, all vary in price and not only eat in but take away. The marina has a lot of good seafood restaurants and places to eat. Shopping offers you the choice of main street shops and supermarkets, bakeries and fish markets are also well worth a visit.

Travelling By Airplane EasyJey, Ryan Air and a other airlines fly to La Rochelle. Hire a vehicle at the airport and travel about 45 miles to the villa in Les Mathes.
Bordeauxs international airport is also easily accessible, major airlines fly to here including BA.
